I'm Frances Hartley, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant honored to be serving families on the Big Island of Hawai'i.

I first became interested in lactation when I was struggling to breastfeed my first child who had a tongue tie, along with other complications from pregnancy and birth. The caring, compassionate and practical support that I received from Lactation Consultants was life changing for me. I wanted to provide that for others.

I've been providing breastfeeding support since 2016 at a number of hospitals in the Tacoma and Seattle area in Washington State. Since 2021 I’ve been working with Nest Hawai’i to help support local families on Big Island.

During that time I noticed many families go home from the hospital sleep deprived, overwhelmed and with a real need for more breastfeeding help and education. I am here to provide that care and follow up,  to help you achieve your goals and to support your family in this new life transition. I believe that any amount of breastfeeding is something to be celebrated and supported.
